About Mandela Records

Original music. Distinctive virtual artists. Human-led production.

Independent Sound. Global Vision.

Music has never belonged to one place, one language or one generation.

Founded by Ry-Jean Valks, Mandela Records is an independent music label built on a belief in the power of original ideas, cultural identity and artistic freedom.

With creative roots in Curaçao and a perspective shaped by international influences, Mandela Records brings together artists and musical identities across hip-hop, R&B, neo-soul, kizomba, Afrobeat, Latin music, gospel, reggae and contemporary electronic sounds.

The catalogue reflects the different ways music can connect with people. Versai Monroe draws on the warmth and intimacy of classic soul. M2 brings a low, commanding voice to contemporary trap. Revonic moves between languages and dance cultures, while Zion Rose expresses faith and encouragement through Papiamentu gospel. Bachata Manía tells stories through four distinct vocal identities. These projects share a label, but each has its own musical purpose.

No two artists require the same approach. The intimacy of neo-soul, the guitar-driven storytelling of bachata and the rhythmic force of trap call for different choices in songwriting, arrangement, vocal character and production.

At Mandela Records, these choices guide the development of each release. RayNoize works across artist concepts, musical direction, vocal development, arrangements and final production. Modern technology, including generative AI, is part of the process, with creative decisions and quality control remaining under human responsibility.

As Mandela Records grows, its ambition remains clear: develop original music, establish distinctive artists, connect with audiences across borders and build an independent platform where creativity and commercial sustainability can coexist.
